Volunteer Opportunities

ARTICLE II: Purpose NCBCD is a non-profit organization working to do the following purposes:

1. To promote fellowship among the Deaf Baptists and workers with the Deaf in North Carolina.

2. For spiritual growth among the Deaf in North Carolina.

3. To provide training and discipleship for the Deaf.

4. To spread the Gospel to the Deaf.

5. To encourage cooperation with the Southern Baptist Conference of the Deaf (SBCD), the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (BSC-NC) and the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC).

6. To provide a channel of communication such as a newsletter or other means.

The JR. NCBCD is a non-profit association for the following purposes:

    • To cooperate in carrying forward the cause of Christ among deaf young people in obedience of the Great Commission (Mathew 28: 19-20) with respect by personal witnessing, evangelism, and discipleship.
    • To provide opportunities for the deaf young people to gain practical training to become tomorrow’s leaders within the NCBCD and the Southern Baptist Convention of the Deaf (hereafter referred to as SBCD).
    • To provide opportunities for the inspirational worship experience.
    • To provide an understanding of the deaf awareness and of the needs of deaf young people to the community at large.

Donnie Wiltshire: State Deaf Ministries Coordinator

Donnie Wiltshire has served the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina as Special Ministries Consultant since June 1999.  Donnie came to the Convention by way of Texas, Louisiana, and Tennessee.  He served in all of those places as a pastor for various Deaf churches.  He is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He is married to Irma Wiltshire and they have three children.
